Posted below are results of ten weeks of racing from the 1974 season of the Pt au Roche time trials, beginning on May 28. This was the year when Gary Toth searched the area for a good ten-mile course and announced a weekly bicycling event in the newspaper. All of the results posted here were taken from newspaper clippings and were converted by scanning, using Optical Character Recognition (OCR),then formatting, editing and proof-reading in Excel, Word and Notepad. We have reason to believe that our records lack the results from several weeks of riding. In addition, some of the dates below are conjectural. These partial results for the 10 weeks show 48 riders posting 135 results on the ten mile course and just three on the five mile course.

Accurate course measurement was difficult in those days and over the first few weeks, the turn-around point at the north end of the course was changed more than once. The course was shortened again in the 1980's to a configuration now used for decades. Top Riders -- No single rider dominated the season, with eight riders scoring wins in the ten events. Leo Baltazar posted two firsts and set the course record, covering the ten mile course in 25 minutes and 52 seconds. Organizer Gary Toth was the only other double winner. Barbara West posted the top time for women, a 32:09, the course record for women. June 26th was the busiest evening with 26 riders participating. In the 10 weeks posted below, Don & Barb West each rode 10 times, followed by five riders who each rode in seven of the events.
